Roscommon (Irish: Ros Comáin, "Saint Coman's wood") is the county town in the county of Roscommon in Ireland.

From Dublin

Follow the N4, then take the N6 Galway road until Athlone. Finally take Exit 12 for Roscommon just after crossing the River Shannon.

By train

From Dublin

Regular service to 🌍 Roscommon station on the Westport line from Heuston station.

By bus

From Dublin

Regular service from Busaras to county Roscommon, serving towns of Strokestown, Tulsk, Ballinagar, Frenchpark and Ballaghaderreen, departing Dublin Busaras at 07:00, 10:00, 13:00, 16:00, 16:30, 22:30. The journey will taken between 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

There are a number of local taxi and hackney operators. Bus Éireann operates a service between Roscommon and Athlone, as does Irish Rail. Roscommon town is small enough to easily explore on foot without worry of getting lost.
