Visit during the carnival activities every September (search for Pewsey Carnival for this year's itinerary). The highlights are a four-legged wine race, where teams of three wearing fancy dress race around the village to drink wine, a "wheel-beer-o" race where teams have spent the summer decorating a wheelbarrow and race to each pub for one drink before running through the river to a finish line, and the Carnival finale where thousands of people line the streets for an annual procession.
