Leenane

Leenane is an idyllic and pretty Irish village situated on the edge of a fjord (The Killary) in Connemara in the Ireland. It was chosen as the location to film the screen adaption of John B Keanes "The Field". It has a couple of small pubs, which are packed with locals most of the time, and a few small restaurants too. It also is the site of a "Heritage Centre", which offers local arts and crafts, and a bit of history too.

  • Hamiltons Bar. Enjoy a savage pint and a bit of craic beside the open fire.
  • Joe Kane's, Maam. Very popular for tourists and locals alike.
