Amaravati is the capital city of the State of Andhra Pradesh in Southern India.

Not to be confused with Amaravathi.

Amaravati is a planned capital city which is under construction. It's name was derived from nearby historic town named Amaravathi. The region was once a capital of the Satavahana dynasty. The city is located on the banks of Krishna River and the capital region of the city is spread over the districts of Krishna and Guntur.

The nearest railway station is VIJAYAWADA JN - BZA and GUNTUR JN - GNT

By car

From Vijayawada and Guntur it is located equidistant and takes about 45 minutes-1 1/4 hours to reach Amaravati city.

APSRTC buses operate from Vijayawada and Guntur bus stations.
