History

Yantaringa station and siding opened sometime around 1883. The station, which takes its name from an aboriginal word for "big lookout",[1] was located in the Adelaide Hills suburb of Verdun, and is a few hundred metres to the east of the Yantaringa Tunnel.[2]

In 1925 it became a stopping place for rail motors.[3] The station/siding closed in 1964.[4]

gollark: Where I make "osmarks.tk 2.0", which is very "modern web" and totally unusable.
gollark: Although it would have to go after my other planned joke.
gollark: Maybe I should rewrite osmarks.tk formally as an April fools' joke.
gollark: Probably.
