It was established in 1916 and occupied its current site in 1920. It later added a high school program with the first class graduating in 1970.[2]
In 2019 the school administration noticed vaping occurring with students and in some restrooms for male students, uninstalled some stall doors to try to stifle the phenomenon. The story was re-posted by news channels outside of Alabama.[3]
