Wiśniewski (Polish pronunciation: [viɕˈɲɛfskʲi]; feminine: Wiśniewska, plural Wiśniewscy) is the third most common surname in Poland (111,174 people in 2009).[1] The name roughly translates to "from the town of the cherry tree".
