Wanjok (Wanyjok) is a town in the Republic of South Sudan and it serves as the capital city of Aweil East State.[2][3][4][5]

History

Formerly Wanyjok was the state of Northern Bahr El Gazhel. It became the capital of the new state, Aweil East, when the president Salva Kiir created new states in South Sudan.[6]
