History

The station’s construction permit was issued by the Federal Communications Commission on February 25, 2010, under the calls of W45DK-D. At that time, the station was originally licensed to Springfield, Illinois. The current WODK-LD callsign was adopted on March 28, 2016.[1]

DTV America relocated the station to the St. Louis area in late 2016, but the official city of license remains to be Springfield, Illinois temporarily. It then signed on in December of that year as the area’s Cozi TV affiliate. By January 2017, the station has been broadcasting seven subchannels, including bringing Decades, Heroes & Icons, and the 24/7 subchannel of the American Sports Network to the St. Louis market. Tuff TV and AMGTV was launched the same month.[3] With that, a total of 14 subchannels are offered over both of DTV America-owned stations in St. Louis, including those of sister station KBGU-LP. At the start of 2018, the station lost their H&I, Decades and Movies! subchannels; the owner of those networks, Weigel Broadcasting, purchased KNLC (channel 24) in December 2017, and took control of the local rights to those networks unilaterally, replacing WODK-LD.

gollark: See, it's important to download and install security patches as soon as possible to minimize the amount of time you go around with insecure software with vulnerabilities now known to everyone. But my internet connection is slow. So the solution is simple - download the software updates after release, then send them back in time to a few hours before release and apply them then.
gollark: The osmarks.tk closed timelike curve has a lot of spare capacity, we mostly use it to speed up software updates.
gollark: *Or* get access to the information you want in the future, then use the osmarks.tk closed timelike curve to send it back to now.
gollark: Just ask another god how to increase your wizard level.
