WION (TV channel)
WION (World is One News) is an English language news-based pay television channel in India that is owned by Essel Group. It is part of the Zee Media network of channels. The channel reports global news and issues.[1][2] Its website was launched on 15 June 2016[3] and the TV channel on 15 August 2016 as a free-to-air satellite service in many countries.[4][5]

Team
Founding team
The founding team included Rohit Gandhi as editor-in-chief,[6] Mandy Clark, former CBS correspondent,[7] and Mithaq Kazimi, American media executive[8] as Managing Producers respectively. Known journalists included Saad Hammadi, Bangladesh bureau chief and former correspondent for The Guardian,[9][10] Archith Seshadri, former CNN anchor[11] and Tathagata Bhattacharya, former editor of the CNN web edition.
Current team
The current team includes Sudhir Chaudhary as editor-in-chief and Network18 former senior editor Palki Sharma Upadhyay as executive editor. Sidhant Sibal of DD News joined the organization on 1 April 2018. Sumit Chaturvedi, who was earlier with ET Now and CNBC TV18, looks after the business news content and does morning and evening business shows WALLET. Republic TV's former news anchor Akanksha Swarup joined WION in 2018 becoming one of the channel's leading faces. Sayed Mustafa Kazemi became Afghanistan Correspondent for the channel in February 2020. Associated journalists include Naveen Kapoor, Digvijay Singh Deo, Rabin Sharma, Ieshan Wani and Kartikeya Sharma, Alyson le Grange.
The channel's Pakistan bureau chief, Taha Siddiqui, was forced into exile after a failed kidnapping attempt in Islamabad and Anas Mallick replaced him.[12][13]
