Overview
The Volkswagen Lamando debuted at the Chengdu Auto Show in August 2014, and was launched in the auto market in China in November 2014. Its Chinese name is Ling Du (凌渡).[1] Like the CC version of the Passat or Magotan in China, the Lamando is meant to be the CC version of the Jetta/Sagitar in the country.
In April 2016, a sportier GTS trim was launched and it received sportier cosmetic upgrades and an engine from the Golf GTI.[2] The Lamando was used on the Chinese version of Top Gear, as part of the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car segment in the second season, replacing the Ford Focus.
