Virginia's 23rd Senate district

Virginia's 23rd Senate district is one of 40 districts in the Senate of Virginia. It has been represented by Republican Senator Stephen Newman since 1996.

Geography

District 23 includes all of Botetourt and Craig Counties as well as parts of Bedford County, Campbell County, Roanoke County, and the City of Lynchburg.[3]

The district overlaps with U.S. congressional districts 5, 6, and 9, and Virginia House of Delegates districts 8, 17, 19, 22, 23, and 59.[4] Its western edge borders the state of West Virginia.[1]
