History
VIP Ecuador was founded in 1990. In 2001, the company started to operate with commercial flights. In 2003, it became part of the Synergy Group which owns 100% of its stock. In 2009, the airline was rebranded as Avianca Ecuador. In 2012, the airline ceased operations when it merged with AeroGal.
