Ursula Coope

Ursula Coope FBA is a British professor of ancient philosophy.[1] Since 2017, she has been the Professor of Ancient Philosophy in the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Oxford, and is a professorial fellow of Keble College, Oxford. Previously, she was a tutorial fellow and professor of ancient philosophy at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, and global distinguished professor at New York University.[2]

In 1992, Coope graduated with a B.A. in philosophy, politics and economics at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. In 1999, she was awarded a PhD in philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley.[2] She is an expert on Aristotle.

Coope was elected as a Fellow of the British Academy in 2020.[3]
