Troy Luccketta

Troy Mack Luccketta (born October 5, 1959) is an American musician who is best known as the drummer of hard rock band Tesla.[1]

Biography

Born in Lodi, California and raised in the San Francisco area, Luccketta began playing drums at the age of ten. His main influences as a teenager were Mitch Mitchell, John Bonham, Ian Paice, Jeff Porcaro, David Garibaldi, and Steve Gadd. He began playing live with San Francisco cover bands such as Whisper, Benny and the Jets, 415, and the Eric Martin Band before joining an up-and-coming band called Tesla in 1985.

In 2010, Troy participated in a Tommy Bolin tribute album entitled Mister Bolin’s Late Night Revival, a compilation of 17 previously unreleased tracks written by Bolin prior to his death in 1976.[2]

Other

Troy also produces other artists and has played drums on recording sessions in the studio with artists such as Ronnie Montrose, Marc Bonilla, Eric Westphal, and others. He operated a recording studio, TML Productions, in Hayward, California.[3]
