Thokar Niaz Beg

Thokar Niaz Baig (Punjabi, Urdu: ٹھوکر نیاز بیگ) is a union council (UC 118) located in Iqbal Tehsil of Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.

History

Sipah-e-Muhammad Pakistan was strong in various Shia community in Pakistan, and in the majority Shia town of Thokar Niaz Baig ran a "virtual state within a state" in the 1990s[1].

Transportation

Thokar Niaz Baig serves as the major point of entry into Lahore from the south/west. It serves as the junction between the M2 motorway and N5 national highway (Multan Road) as well as the Lahore Ring Road. Thokar Niaz Baig is also the site of the Lahore Jinnah Bus Terminal.
