The Woods (Polish: W głębi lasu) is a Polish mystery thriller web television miniseries, based on the 2007 novel of the same name by Harlan Coben. The series premiered on Netflix on 12 June 2020.

Premise

The series is set in 1994 and 2019 and tells a story of the Warsaw prosecutor Paweł Kopiński. He cannot recover from the loss of his beloved sister many years ago, who went missing in unexplained circumstances during the summer camp. The unexpected discovery of a body whose death seems to be linked to the disappearance of the girl may finally lead to a breakthrough in the investigation.

Production

It was announced in December 2019 that ATM Grupa wrapped filming of the series and that it would be released on Netflix in 2020.[2] It is the second Polish-language series made for Netflix and the fourth Netflix production created by Harlan Coben, following The Five, Safe and The Stranger.
