Plot
The Doctor is concerned that K9 has become dangerous, in a tale that Leela recalls just before she dies.
Cast
- Leela — Louise Jameson
- K9 / Holland — John Leeson
Continuity
- This story concludes the trilogy that was started in The Catalyst and continued in Empathy Games.
- While the timelines shift throughout this play, the bulk of it seems to take place just before The Invasion of Time, as the Doctor has already begun constructing K9 Mark II.
- The Z'nai were last heard in The Catalyst, in both the main story and the framing story. In the former, Leela meets the son of the Emperor glimpsed in this story.
- Joshua Douglas, who the Doctor traveled with in an earlier incarnation, and who Leela met in The Catalyst, is also briefly seen. He seems to be with the Third Doctor, a man with white hair and a bright red jacket.
- In Empathy Games, the Doctor recalls witnessing a world burn, a long time ago. That moment is illustrated in this tale.
- The wood paneled secondary console room was destroyed in Empathy Games.
- The framing story continues in The Child.
Notes
- John Leeson is credited in the liner notes as playing Holland. He also played a role other than K9 in the 1979 TV story The Power of Kroll.
gollark: I have it in a "technically usable but please no" state.
gollark: It's a wiki-style personal note taking application!
gollark: gnobody, do YOU have minoteaurous feature ideas‽
gollark: I like to design for mobile devices by just following reasonably sensible general design practices and sticking the magic `<meta name="viewport">` tag in.
