In a customer review at Amazon.com [2] Richard Stambaugh claims that he made this recording. He states:
"The release of this album was an "accident." Warne Marsh took a second copy – that is, two removed from the original, to Atlantic (sic) with the intent of getting an opinion from their people. [...] The album suddenly (about 4 months later) appeared. I tried to get them to re-master from the original – but to no avail – thus the apparent poor quality. Actually, with the exception of a small, acoustically dead room, the original is quite pleasant."
