Originally released by Creator Destructor Records, a Bay Area label, it had seen great success during its debut in late 2006.[2] Despite being unsigned at the particular time, the band had scheduled over 100 shows in the Bay area alone,[3] and was praised for the mood that they could convey using both aggressive death/black metal sounds, and the harmonies of a keyboard.[4] It was also praised for its sound and songwriting, despite the band's young age.[5]

This album has been heavily praised for its fuse of both black metal and death metal and the atmosphere created by keyboardist Daniella Jones' synthesizers, and drummer Alex Hernandez's use of blast beats throughout the album.[6]

The album was re-released in March 2007 with a distribution deal by Prosthetic Records after 5 weeks of constant touring.[7][8]

The artwork for this record "was created by Gustave Doré."[7]

Personnel
gollark: The hard part is that the electromagnets require large amounts of *somewhat* annoying to get resources (tough alloy), and the "fusion core" requires elite plating, requiring a bunch of uranium-238 and "crystal binder", which requires "calcium sulfate" which requires a large complex chemical processing setup.
gollark: NuclearCraft has fusion reactors which I've made a few times. They need a lot of resources and also *somewhat* hard to make stuff.
gollark: The faucet things are effectively liquid pipes activated by rightclicking and redstone, which is... something.
gollark: I haven't actually seen/used IC2 machines since probably the 1.7.10 days.
