In it, Rothbard describes the takeover of the Old Right by neoconservatives and cold warriors during the 1950s and 1960s. The book argues this change resulted in a negative shift in American politics, as the Old Right that supported small government and non-intervention in foreign affairs became a Republican party that promoted statism and anti-Communist policies around the world.
