Tennessee's 9th Senate district
Tennessee's 9th Senate district is one of 33 districts in the Tennessee Senate. It has been represented by Republican Mike Bell since 2011.[2]

Geography
District 9 is based in rural East Tennessee to the east of Chattanooga, including the city of Cleveland as well as Athens, Sweetwater, Madisonville, Etowah, Decatur, and Benton. The district covers all of McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, and Polk Counties and part of Bradley County. [3]
The district is split between Tennessee's 3rd and 4th congressional districts, and overlaps with the 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th districts of the Tennessee House of Representatives.[4] It borders the states of North Carolina and Georgia.[1]
