The township most probably takes its name from the Midah River which flows into a small lake to the east.[1]

Location

Taman Midah is located 5km from Bukit Bintang in the centre of Kuala Lumpur. Its north-eastern boundary is formed by the main trunk road of Jalan Cheras, the south-eastern by the MRR2. To its west is the University Hospital and the peaceful spaces of Taman Tasik Permaisuri (Lake Park). Running through the centre of the township is Jalan Midah Besar.

Character

Taman Midah is a mixed development township, comprising residential and commercial units. Some roads are characterised by late twentieth century link houses. Others feature expensive large detached homes (bungalows). There are also a small number of condominium developments[2].

Sports and Recreational

Taman Tasik Permaisuri (Lake Park) is one of the major attractions for joggers/runners from the areas that surround it.[3] Nearby the lake are the Kuala Lumpur Football Association Stadium[4], Tun Abdul Razak Stadium[5], and Bandar Tun Razak Swimming Complex[6].

Health

Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia[7] and Rehabilitation Hospital are located nearby on Jalan Yaacob Latif.

Shopping

Taman Midah itself has a range of traditional shops and a large Tesco supermarket[8]. There is a morning market daily[9] and a pasar malam each Saturday. Nearby are the increasingly popular shopping and eating areas of Cheras, including the Cheras Leisure Mall and, newly opened in 2019, the EkoCheras Mall.

Connectivity

Taman Midah is well connected by both road and public transport links. Since 2018 it has been served by its own MRT station. There are also two STAR-LRT stations only a short distance away, RapidKL Cheras and RapidKL Bdr Tun Razak. Also nearby is Salak Selatan LRT station (planned future interchange with MRT Circle Line) and Salak Selatan KTM Komuter station.

The major highways connecting the township are East–West Link Expressway (Salak Expressway), Middle Ring Road II (MRR2), Cheras-Kajang Expressway and KESAS.

gollark: Look, it's probably fine if you do it on wired. Why you need to use both I don't know though.
gollark: Hash it? That makes no sense.

gollark: How would you know to look for it without someone telling you?
