Taj Joyo
Taj Joyo (original name Taj Mohammad Joyo) (Sindhi: تاج جويو) is a writer[1] of the Sindhi language. He was born on 6 September 1954 in village Peer Kolachi taulka Sakrand Shaheed Benazirabad District, Sindh.[2]

Professional career
He started his career as a teacher in 22 October 1972. He remained Secretary of Sindhi Language Authority[3] Sindh, 04 times Secretary General of Sindhi Adabi Sangat Sindh. He became press and cultral secretary of Sindh Professors and lecturers association, as well as he remained a member of adivsory board of Lok Virsa - National Institute of Folk & Traditional broad and Sindh University's Institute of Sindhology. He has also compiled research papers on the famous Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhattai in book form. Taj Joyo has also had political and literary affiliations with GM Syed and his family, a well-known intellectual and nationalist figure in Sindh.
Pride Of Performance And Taj Joyo
Taj Joyo has refused to accept the prestigious award Pride of performance. Taj Joyo said he had rejected the Pride of performance not only for the alleged enforced disappearance of his son Sarang Joyo but also for "other injustices" with Sindh.It is now reported that the Senate Human Rights Committee will raise the issue of the disappearance of Sarang Joyo, son of Taj Joyo, in its August 17 meeting.and his son now returned home safe and sound.
It may be recalled that Taj Joyo is not the first Sindhi writer to return the Pride of performance award, but even Sindh historian and translator Atta Muhammad Bhanbhro had earlier refused to accept the award in 2012 during the PPP regime. His son Raja Dahir went missing in 2015 and then after being missing for about a month and a half, his tortured body was found in July 2015 near the Super Highway in Karachi.
