Origin

SuperCasino was a gambling television channel in the United Kingdom which launched in April 2005 as Vegas 24/7 and was owned by Hi2 Limited[1] directed by David Wainwright. Wainwright's forte was in low-brow and interactive television, with sister network Friendly TV being just one example. Wainwright continued his interest in online gambling, developing Hollywood TV, which operates under a generic Curaçaoan gambling licence from Malta.

Subsequent Ownership

The channel is currently owned by Betson AB. Unlike Hollywood TV, Supercasino is regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission.

Broadcasting

SuperCasino previously broadcast every night of the week on Channel 5. Its presentation is based on the game of roulette, which has two variations, Live Roulette and Roulette Express. Live presenter led programming is available from 18:00 to 04:00 daily and has automated roulette during 04:00 and 18:00 on the Sky channel. Viewers can register and play along via their telephone, on the website or through their smartphone.[2]

Super Casino was removed from Freeview channel 39 on 20 October 2009 and Freesat channel 851 on 28 July 2010. However, it was shown overnight on Channel 5 and sister channel Channel 5 + 1 between 00:00 and 04:00 on weekends these hours were different on weekdays from 01:00-04:00 it broadcast every morning until 1 January 2019.[3], when it was replaced by Teleshopping. It was broadcast live from studios in London, with additional broadcast facilities in Guernsey, CI. It was removed from Sky channel 862 on 2 March 2016.

SuperCasino was the first casino operator to have a live TV roulette channel in the UK[4] and uses only accredited roulette wheels in line with e-gambling license.

Live Roulette

Live Roulette is the name given to the presenter led roulette offering. Presenters 'host' the show and every few minutes a new roulette round is played and viewers/players can watch the croupier spin the ball around the roulette wheel. As soon as the ball is in motion the table is 'closed' for betting and no more bets can be placed. This format has remained unchanged for many years.

Roulette Express Premium

During the hours of 4am-6pm when presenter/spinner led Live Roulette isn't being broadcast there is a simpler Autowheel game, named Roulette Express Premium.[5] An automated roulette wheel using jets of compressed air to move the ball automatically is used as the main gaming device and each roulette round is shorter in duration than the presenter led show.
