History

In March 2010 an announcement was made on the Delays official website that the new album would be released in June 2010. The group had reunited with producer Duncan Lewis who had worked with the band on their debut album Faded Seaside Glamour.

Background

Compared to previous album Everything's The Rush, Star Tiger, Star Ariel is a lot more stripped back. According to lead singer Greg Gilbert, the album was inspired by the quartet's trips to the New Forest District at night. The album title refers to two planes that disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle in 1948 and 1949.

Critical reception

The album was greeted with mixed reactions. The NME gave the album 5/10, while Pitchfork Media gave the album a 5.7[1]
