History
The hospital which was designed by William Murray, opened as the Clonmel Asylum in January 1835.[1] It became Clonmel Mental Hospital in the 1920s and went on to become St. Luke's Hospital in the 1950s.[2] After the introduction of deinstitutionalisation in the late 1980s the hospital went into a period of decline[3][4] and, following the publication of a highly critical report in 2009,[5] the hospital closed in December 2012.[6][7]

gollark: Well, my brain can probably fit in less than a yottabyte.
gollark: For example: a 3D printer will let you make random plastic parts cheaply, *but* it needs microprocessors to work, and silicon fabs are literally the most capital intensive industry.
gollark: Although it also creates horribly difficult manufacturing processes.
