Soraja Vučelić

Sara Masoni (née Vučelić; born 11 November 1986),[1] better known as Soraja, is a Serbian glamour model, media personality and socialite. She appeared on the fourth series of Serbian Big Brother and fifth Celebrity Big Brother. In addition, Soraja posed for the covers of CKM and Playboy in Serbia, Croatia, North Macedonia and South Africa.

She is also known for her extravagant lifestyle and appearance greatly modified by cosmetic surgery, on which she was said to have spent 90,000.[2]

Life and career

Sara Vučelić was born on November 11, 1986 in Knin, SR Croatia, Yugoslavia. Her mother was abandoned by her family and Soraja's father after conceiving her daughter out-of-wedlock. Because her single mother wasn't financially able to raise her, Soraja grew up in an orphanage in Herceg Novi until high school. When she turned nineteen, Vučelić eventually received inheritance, which helped her relocate to Belgrade.[2] She claims to have studied psychology at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Philosophy.

In 2011, Soraja gained popularity for appearing in the fourth series of Serbian Big Brother broadcast on Pink, finishing in 5th place.

She returned for the fifth celebrity edition of the show on B92 in 2013, where she ended in sixth place. Later that year, it was reported that Vučelić reconciled with her father, who gave her in inheritance of €400,000 and real estate in Zadar and Knin.[3]

In 2014, she received international exposure for her alleged romance with footballer Neymar, who according to Daily Mail sent a private jet to fly her to Barcelona. Brazilian athlete has since denied these speculations on Twitter.[4]

Vučelić also served as a hostess on the Happy TV's version of the Wheel of Fortune between 2015 and 2016.

Another model and TV personality, Stanija Dobrojević, sued and eventually won a case against Vučelić in September 2017 for defamation and attack on her reputation and honour.[5]

In June 2018, Vučelić was labelled as a threat to the national security in Serbia, thus was banned from entering the country.[6]

In July 2019, Soraja had a driving accident when she drove a Lamborghini into a swimming pool in Cannes, French Riviera.[7]

In May 2020, she was arrested in Žabljak, Montenegro for violation of regulations during the coronavirus pandemic and was sentenced to pay €500 fine.[8] Following the incident, media outlets also reported that Soraja married a Dutchman and that she has changed her last name to Masoni.[9]
