Soesilarishius

Soesilarishius is a spider genus of the jumping spider family, Salticidae.[1]

Soesilarishius
Scientific classification
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Subphylum: Chelicerata
Class: Arachnida
Order: Araneae
Infraorder: Araneomorphae
Family: Salticidae
Genus: Soesilarishius
Makhan, 2007[1]
Diversity[1]
23 species

The type species S. amrishi is only known from male specimens, which are 3.1 mm long, with a dark brown carapace.

Validity

The genus describer Dewanand Makhan publishes in the Australian journal Calodema, whose editor seems to have no quality standards whatsoever, while comparing scientists in general with Hitler and Stalin.[2] While Makhan's work on ants and beetles is substandard (describing existing species without knowledge of the fundamental literature),[3] Soesilarishius seems to have been accepted by the arachnologist community, with 23 species being accepted as of April 2017.[1]

Name

The genus is named after the wife and a son of the describer, Soesila and Rishwan. The type species is named after another son, Amrish.[4]

gollark: Squid made a thing with metatables to make it so you could basically never run into those errors, so combine that with `error` overrides and your code will "never" break.
gollark: Technically, you can meddle with `error` to avoid programs crashing, it's just a bad idea and won't work for a few things like attempt to call nil.
gollark: Hmm, probably a Cobalt thing. As far as I know native Lua has a limit of a few thousand.
gollark: ```lualocal function copy(tabl) local new = {} for k, v in pairs(tabl) do new[k] = v end return newend```
gollark: I just define a `copy` function somewhere.
