Simba Sports Club
Simba Sports Club famously known as "Wekundu wa Msimbazi" is a Tanzanian football club based in Msimbazi Street, Kariakoo,While the corporate office found in 2nd floor Diamond Plaza, Mirambo St. & Samora Av. posta, Dar es Salaam,The club's training center known as Mo Simba Arena is located just outside the city centre in Bunju. The club's home games are played at two stadiums, Uhuru Stadium and National Stadium. Simba Sports Club is one of the two biggest football clubs in Tanzania, their arch-rivals being the Young Africans. its current name, Simba (a Swahili word for "Lion").

Simba Sports Club Transformation
The Club is registered under the National Sports Council Act No 12 of 1967 and as amended in 1971. The current Constitution is the one, which was published in 2018, approved on 20th May 2018 by the members at the Extra-Ordinary Meeting and registered with Registration Insolvency and Trusteeship Agency (RITA). The journey of Simba Sports Club into transformation started in 2016 when the Executive Committee at the time realized that the club did not live within its vision, mission and failed to achieve the expectations of its stakeholders therefore there was a need for modernization and development of the Club.
The Executive Committee assigned volunteer members and experts to conduct a research by looking at the root causes of the club deterioration among others a dysfunctional administration, an incapacitated technical development, crippled financial then recommended the best transformation option to rescue the Club. Following a comprehensive report and recommendations produced by the Transformation Committee in September 2016; Simba Sports Club (SSC) is undergoing a transformation process by changing its legal and institutional framework from a members’ association into a public limited liability company known as Simba Sports Club Limited, which is formed jointly between current members with 51% shares of which 10% fully paid and 41% and the Investor 49%. The all change went through a public tender process overseen by the Special Committee of Investment.
Prior to the receipt of tenders, the Simba Sports Club Special Committee of Investment appointed an Evaluation Committee (EC), which was composed of five members with responsibility to carry out the evaluation and make award recommendation to the Investment Committee by identifying the most economically advantageous tender. The highest evaluated tender was the one of Mr. Mohammed Dewji which was determined by applying the evaluation criteria, as specified in the tender documents. The evaluation process passed through Expression of Interest, Technical proposal, Financial Proposal and finally Negotiation stage. On the 2nd of November 2018, Simba sports Club Company Limited was incorporated having two shareholders namely Simba Sports Club Holding Company Limited owning 10% paid shared and 41% unpaid shares, and Mo Simba Company Limited owning 49% fully paid shares. The transformation process is on final stage. As required by law stated in section 11 of the Fair Competition Act of 2003; the management of Simba Sports Club Company Limited:
- Has asked authorization from Fair Competition Commission to examine that the transformation process do not fall under the merger and acquisition;
- Is complying to the Tanzania Revenue Authority on transfer of assets and liabilities
- Has started the verification exercise to determine the real active members of the Club who will be allotted with the shares. The process is advancing well and the members and Simba fans have already start witnessing the positive changes occurring in their loved Club.
Administration
Simba Sports Club has changed its administration from being owned by its registered members to a shareholding company whereby 49% of club's shares were sold to Mr. Mohammed Dewji and the remaining 51% shares allocated to registered club members. The 49% bought by Mohammed Dewji were evaluated at 20 Billion Tshs.
Mo Simba Awards
Mo Simba Awards were initiated in the year 2018 by the Investor of the Club Mr.Mohammed Dewji with the aim of appreciating the efforts of players, technical bench, the management, members and fans of the Club by awarding them different prizes for their contribution to the success of the Club. For the last two years Mo Simba Awards has given out trophies to players and fans in twelve categories targeting players and fans. Mo Simba Award events are fully funded by Mr.Mohammed Dewji himself.

- During his time at the club Simba managed to qualify to the Caf Champions league in 2003 by beating the then reigning champions Zamalek from Egypt.
- Patrick Aussems (Belgium)
- He was hired in 2018 in a new mission to take Simba into the group stage of the Caf champions league and defend the league title that was won by French coach Pierre Lechantre. He managed to take the team to the Caf champions league group stage by beating Mbabane Swallows 4–1 and 0–4, Nkana Fc by an aggregate of 4–3 (1–2, 3–1). Competitions history
CECAFA Clubs Cup 1973-2002
The East African club championship was introduced in 1973 involving four teams from east African countries namelyKenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar.
Kenya was represented by Abaluhya FC (AFC Leopard), Uganda (Express FC), Zanzibar Navy & Simba Sports Club. From Tanzania. Simba emerged as the first club to win the championship by eliminating Abaluhya in the final. All matches were played in Dar es salaam the national stadium (Uhuru Stadium).
CAF Champions League– Semi-finals 1974.
The furthest any Tanzanian team has ever reached in African premier competition, eliminated in the semi-finals by Egyptian club Ghazl Al-Mehalla, in this period, the chairman was late Abubakar Mwilima, himself a renowned trade unionist, educationist and politician who served in Julius Nyerere's government in different capacities.
Prior to reaching final we eliminated a Lesotho club (linare F.C), Zambia army from Zambia and Hearts of Oak from Ghana.
The referee of this match was Mr.Farah Addo who therefore became one of the CAF referee Committee member.
CAF Cup -Finalist 1993
Simba Sports Club got to the final of the CAF Cup in 1993, but we lost to Stella Club d'Adjamé of Côte d'Ivoire.
It was the highest achievement on continental competitions reached by any Tanzanian team
CAF Champions League - Group Stage 2003
This was one of the most memorable years for the club was, when we knocked off the then-reigning CAF champions League Zamalek of Egypt on their way to qualify for the group stages of the CAF Champions League.
In the first round of that year's competition, Simba SC eliminated Santos of South Africa.
CAF Champions League– Quarter-finals 2018-19.
This was one of the most memorable years of the club. Simba SC reached the quarter finals of the Caf champions league.
Simba SC started the preliminary round by playing with Mbabane swallows of Swaziland and scored 8 – 1 aggregate. Then played with Nkana Red Devils of Zambia first round and was able to advance to group stage.
After advancing into group stage simba qualified the quarter finals with having 9 points in group D as the second position.
Unfortunately, simba was eliminated in the quarter finals by a match played with TP Mazembe of DRC Congo by 4 goals.
Honours
The highest level of success that Simba SC achieved was getting to the final of the CAF Cup in 1993, when they lost to Stella Club of Côte d'Ivoire.
