Shume Pis

"Shume Pis" (Albanian pronunciation: [ʃumə pis]; transl. Very nasty) is a song recorded by Kosovo-Albanian artists Era Istrefi featuring Ledri Vula. The song was written by both artists alongside Albanian rapper BimBimma, while the production process was handled by Albanian producer Big Bang.[1]

The official music video for the song was shot in southern Albania and was uploaded on the 4 July 2015 onto YouTube in order to accompany the single's release. It features the artists performing to the song by day and night in Jale Beach on the Albanian Ionian Sea Coast.

Background

Composition

"Shume Pis" was written by Istrefi and Vula alongside Albanian rapper BimBimma. Albanian producer Big Bang was hired for the song's production process. The song was composed in 4
4 time and is performed in the key of G♭ major in common time with a tempo of 92 beats per minute.[2][3] It was mostly written in Albanian though a few lines are in English.

Promotion and reception

The accompanying music video for "Shume Pis" was premiered onto the YouTube channel of the artists' label, AVD Digital, on the release date on 4 July 2015.[4][5] AVD Digital confirmed the aforementioned during a social media post on 2 July 2015.[6] After its release, the music video was viewed over 10 million times in its first month.[7]

"Shume Pis" has received positive reviews from music critics and was described as a summer hit.[8][9] A rap version of the song was performed by Sindolls in the blind auditions of the Italian television talent show The Voice of Italy in 2019.[10][11]
