Short Films by Louis C.K.

Short Films by Louis C.K. (2001) is a DVD collection of nine early comedy short films by American comedian Louis C.K. made from 1990 to 2000.[1] All the films were written, directed, produced, and edited by C.K. with cinematography by Paul Koestner.[2] The DVD was originally self-produced and self-released by his company Circus King Films on his website and then re-released in 2020, along with a digital download version.[3]

The only short films it excludes from that era are his very first amateur short film from 1984, Trash Day, and two shorts featured on Late Night with Conan O'Brien as "joke previews": Searching for Nixon[4] in 1997 and Persona Ne'll Aqua[5] from 1999.

The six short films in the collection that were made in 1995 were originally featured at that time on Howie Mandel's Sunny Skies, then later re-copyrighted in 1998 and posted on YouTube by C.K. in 2006. These films were executive produced by Howie Mandel, produced by Nick Smith, with music by Mark Pender, sound by Paul Bang and casting by Jennifer Sauer.[6]

The extra features on the video include C.K.'s biography; a trailer to his feature film directorial debut, Tomorrow Night (1998); a video introduction to the films by C.K.; and more text information and credits of the films.[7]

The films are listed in the order they appear on the DVD.
