Shapingba station

Shapingba is a station of the Chongqing Rail Transit system in Chongqing Municipality, China[1][2]. It is located in the Shapingba District. It opened on 28 July 2011 with the opening of the heavy rail, Line 1. Until further expansion was completed and opened in 2013, it operated as the terminus of line 1. It will also interchanges with the renovated Shapingba Railway Station, as an Integrated Transport Hub, with connected bus and taxi modes. It is being expanded to accommodate two extra rail lines to the south of the current metro station, to serve Line 9 & the Loop Line (Both under construction and due to open in 2018).

Station layout

Line 1

The station serves as the 14th station on the East-West running Line 1. This is an underground station on two levels. The first underground level is for the station hall & ticketing, beneath which is the platform level. The station set up to serve 2 tracks from a single island platform.

Line 9

Shapingba will be the 3rd station on this line. Platforms and station is currently under construction beneath Shapingba Railway Station on the -7th level. It will run from the South West to the North East of the city.
