Shaikh of Bihar
The Shaikh of Bihar are a Muslim community commonly found in the Indian state of Bihar. They are part of the larger Sheikh community of South Asia. The Sheikh of Bihar are split into two distinct groups; the dhelphorwha Sheikh(those who work on the land) and the elite Sheikh who are mainly landowners. It has been noted that Shaikh community is the most fluid among Bihari Muslims with many Muslims of lower-caste origins like Idrisis and others giving themselves the title of Sheikh.[1]
