Shaibu Husseini

Shaibu Husseini (born 17 December 1970 [1]) is a Nigerian journalist, performing artist and film curator.[2][3][4] He has been described as the "most consistent documentarist" on Nollywood-related topics.[5] In 2010, he published his book, titled Moviedom, that narrates the developmental stages of Nollywood.[6] He was the head of board of jury at the 12th Africa Movie Academy Awards.

Career

Husseini is a top editor for The Guardian newspaper.[7] In 2014, he was honoured for his contributions to the development of Nigerian Film Industry by Nollywood Film Festival in Germany.[8] He has been the chairman of the college of screeners and a member of jury board of Africa Movie Academy Awards for many years.[9] Since the appointment of Steve Ayorinde as commissioner for information of Lagos State in 2015, Husseini has been the head of AMAA jury board.[10]
