Shahab Zahedi

Shahab Zahedi (Persian: شهاب زاهدی, born June 18, 1995) is an Iranian footballer who is currently playing for Olimpik Donetsk.

Career

Youth teams

Zahedi was a member of the Persepolis Youth Academy since 2013.[1] He played for Persepolis in AFC Vision Asia U-21 Tehran Premier League. He also had experience with Paykan[1] and Moghavemat Tehran[1] academies.

Persepolis

After some good performances with U21 side, Zahedi was promoted to first team in October 2014 by Hamid Derakhshan. He made his debut for Persepolis in a Hazfi Cup match against Kargar Boneh Gaz Bushehr as a substitute for Mehdi Taremi.[2] He made his professional debut for the club in 1–0 loss against Saipa on October 21.[3]

ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar

After being released by Persepolis, Zahedi joined Icelandic club ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar in July 2017. He became the first Iranian player to play football in Iceland. He won the 2017 Icelandic Cup on 12 August 2017.[4] On 4 December 2017, Zahedi extended his contract with ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar for another three years.[5] Zahedi made his UEFA debut on 12 July 2018 in the 2018–19 UEFA Europa League.[6]

Suwon Samsung Bluewings

On 16 January 2019, Zahedi joined Suwon Samsung Bluewings. But his doping history was revealed by fans. one day after, On 17 January 2019, Zahedi's contract with Suwon Samsung Bluewings was terminated by mutual consent.[7]

About this happening, Suwon Samsung Bluewings front office received a lot of criticism.[8] [9] [10][11]
