Layout
The station has two island platforms serving four tracks:
- Biwako Line for Kyoto and Osaka (partly)
- Biwako Line for Kyoto and Osaka
- Biwako Line for Kusatsu and Maibara
- Kusatsu Line for Kusatsu and Kibukawa
The ticket windows and gates are located in the building above the platforms.[1]
History
The station opened on August 12, 1969. From the beginning, there was no freight service at this station.[2]
