Serranus baldwini, the lantern bass, is a species of fishes belonging to the family Serranidae.

Description
Serranus baldwini can reach a length of 12 centimetres (4.7 in) in males. The body shows four square black and red blotches on the lower side. It feeds on small shrimps and fishes.[1]
Distribution
This species can be found from southern Florida and Bahamas to the southeast of Brazil.
Habitat
It is a marine reef-associated species, living in rocky and weedy areas at a depth of 1 – 80 m.
