The Plasser & Theurer rail track maintenance machine in Čačak, October 2019

In March 2015, the Government of Serbia announced its plan to establish three new railway companies, splitting the Serbian Railways in separate businesses - cargo, passenger and infrastructure.[4]

Serbian Railways Infrastructure was founded on 10 August 2015, as the national railway company specialized in the management of public rail infrastructure of Serbia, after being split from the Serbian Railways, in the process of reconstruction and better optimization of business.[5]
