Original 101 series

The 101 series began service in 1969, in conjunction with the opening of the Seibu Chichibu Line.[2]

New 101 series and 301 series

The New 101 series features changes in design.[3] The 301 series is based on the New 101 series,[4] and were formed as eight-car sets.[2]

Resale

The Chichibu Railway 6000 series trains were rebuilt from former Seibu New 101 series trains.[5] Sangi Railway operates former New 101 series trains as Sangi Railway 751 series.[6] Former Seibu New 101 series trains were also transferred to Ryutetsu, becoming Ryutetsu 5000 series trains.[7]

Livery variations

In 2018, one set received a livery resembling the Ohmi Railway 100 series.[8] Other livery variations include a set in Izuhakone Railway livery,[9] and a set in red and beige livery.[10]

Preserved examples

gollark: That does make some sense, I guess. But hardly seems like it requires specifically 5G.
gollark: Given that they're... physically near each other, presumably.
gollark: For communication between cars, it seems odd to have them all link back to a tower.
gollark: So having anything which works by streaming vast amounts of data all the time does not seem smart.
gollark: They need to be able to operate independently of the network, or everything will go horribly wrong if they go into a tunnel, or there's a temporary outage.
