Second Müller senate

The second Müller senate is the current state government of Berlin,[1] sworn in on 8 December 2016 after Michael Müller was elected as Governing Mayor by the members of the Abgeordnetenhaus of Berlin. It is the 27th senate of Berlin.

It was formed after the 2016 Berlin state election, by the Social Democratic Party (SPD), Alliance '90/The Greens and the Left Party. The senate has 11 members, called Senators, together with the Governing Mayor, 5 are member of the SPD and 3 for both the Alliance '90/The Greens and the Left Party.

Composition

The second Müller cabinet is composed[2] of the Governing Mayor, 10 Senators - two Senators also serve as Deputy Governing Mayors. Furthermore, every Senate department has two Secretaries of State, who support the Senator with their duties. The Senate Chancellery (Governing Mayor's Office) has four Secretaries of State, with one serving as the Chief of the Senate Chancellery, the current Chief of the Senate Chancellery is Christian Gaebler.
