Scott Spock

Scott Alspach, known professionally as Scott Spock, is a songwriter, music producer and composer.[1]  He is known for being a member of the pop writing and production team The Matrix, who have written and produced many hit singles that have reached #1 worldwide.  Alspach is best known for his songs with Avril Lavigne[2], Korn, Hillary Duff, Shakira, Jason Mraz, David Bowie[3], Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera[4], Liz Phair, Busted and Rihanna.[4]

Life

Spock grew up in Waterloo, Illinois. He was already performing professionally as a teenager in St. Louis, Missouri. At Southern Illinois University, Scott got his Bachelor of Science in Math Studies / Statistics in 1988 and a Bachelor of Music in Music / Jazz Performance in 1989.[1] After college, he worked as an actuary for several years before pursuing music full time. Scott also was a jingle writer and producer for clients, prior to moving to Los Angeles in 1992.

Scott is married to Katherine McShane Alspach.
