Sandstone, Missouri

Sandstone is an unincorporated community in Vernon County, in the U.S. state of Missouri.[1] The community was located on Missouri Route E about six miles east of Milo and just west of Clear Creek.[2]

History

A post office called Sand Stone was established in 1867, the name was changed to Sandstone in 1883, and the post office closed in 1901.[3] The community most likely was so named on account of the rocky character of the original town site.[4]
