Samaritan (2021 film)
Samaritan is an upcoming American superhero action thriller film directed by Julius Avery, and starring Sylvester Stallone. With a script by Bragi F. Schut, the project has been described as a dark, new take on superhero movies.

Plot
A young boy comes to the realization that a famed superhero, who was thought to have gone missing after an epic battle twenty years ago, may in fact still be around.

Production
Development
In February 2019, MGM acquired a script by Bragi F. Schut titled Samaritan, and was announced to co-produce the film with Balboa Productions.[1] In September 2019, Julius Avery joined the production as director.[2]
Casting
In February 2019, Sylvester Stallone was announced to star as the titular role, in addition to his role as producer. In February 2020, Martin Starr, Moisés Arias, Dascha Polanco, Pilou Asbæk, Javon "Wanna" Walton, Jared Odrick, and Michael Aaron Milligan had join the cast in supporting roles.[3][4] In March 2020, Natacha Karam joined the cast of the film.[5]
Release
Samaritan is scheduled to be released on June 4, 2021.[9] It was previously scheduled to be released on December 11, 2020 and November 20, 2020.[10]
