Samaleswari S.C.

Samaleswari Sporting Club is an Indian football club from Odisha. The club has always been an amateur team but in January 2012 it was announced that they were to participate in the 2012 I-League 2nd Division, the second tier of football in India.[1]

History

In January 2012 they were officially certified by the All India Football Federation to participate in the I-League 2nd Division, the second tier of football in India. This move would begin a new chapter for Samaleswari Sporting Club as they would officially become professional.[1] After the group stage Samaleswari finished in fifth place in Group A and thus did not qualify for the next round and were out of the promotion race.

I League: 2018–Present

The AIFF have also worked on providing direct-entry for certain clubs into the I-League for this season. On 21 September 2018 it was revealed that both Samaleswari SC had submitted documents for direct-entry into the I-League.
