One day Pran inaugurates a modern machine in the Mill & declares sacking of 400 Mill workers out of 1500 on strength to which Parikshit Sahani opposes. During negotiations Prem Chopra, the Manager slaps Prakash (Parikshit Sahani) but matter is halted by Police intervention. All the mazdoors under the leadership of Prakash decides to go on hunger strike & wins by interception by Govt to run the Mill. However, Pran quickly approaches court & brings a Stay Order. Mill workers on strike, start starving. When Pran finds the Mill workers unmanageable at the Mill gate, calls Police for protection & on the other hand pays money to his goons to finish Prakash. Ajay falls prey to the goons on a dark evening in a narrow lane & dies. Chaya in search of a job fails to get any & situation worsens when her mother-in law (Shami) is taken away by her brother (CS Dubey) to his house & locks her, with a malicious intention of grabbing the cottage in future. Prakash & Chaya’s children then start suffering for want of food & comes on the road, desperately.
