History

The first known church in Saltdal was built in 1656 at the Saltnes farm, about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) to the southeast of the present location of the church. There is some evidence that there may have been a chapel on the site prior to that time as well.[3] In 1864, a new church was constructed to replace the old one. A new church site was chosen, located more central in the main village of Rognan.[4]

gollark: It's entirely possible that you came up with an idea *so insane* that nobody else made a library for it!
