History

College Building

Aware of the need for more schools in Alabang, Dr. Felicitas Carlos-Rabonza - the Directress/President of SBCA, made a commitment to make use of her property to build a school. It measures 2,189 sq.m., and another lot adjacent to the site is also available for future expansion. The vacant lot has an area of additional 3,311 sq.m. The property is parallel to the South Superhighway, near the Alabang rotonda.

The school was established in 1983, in a small renovated garage, with one small classroom for the use of ninety-one students enlisted in the Nursery, Kindgarten and Preparatory levels. Mrs. Josefina A. Beltran was the founding principal of Bernadette School for Children and Dr. Herminia C. Mangussad, the founding DECS Private School Supervisor. Since then, additional grade levels had been added each year. In June 18, 1985, The Preschool and Elementary School were recognized by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports.

In 1987-1988, the school started to offer Secondary Education Program. In the same curriculum year, the name Bernadette School for Children was changed to Saint Bernadette School of Alabang. In December 1989, the Elementary level was recognized by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports. School Year 1990-1991 marked the completion of the Pre-school, Elementary and High School Departments.

School year 1996-1997 marked the opening of the College Department.[1] Hence the name Saint Bernadette School of Alabang was changed to Saint Bernadette College of Alabang.

School hymn

"Saint Bernadette Hymn" is the official school hymn of Saint Bernadette College of Alabang. The lyrics and composition are by Ma. Flordeliza C. Rabonza and Rick Calsado of University of the Philippines Conservatory of Music. It was arranged by Emmanuel Bacarra on July 3, 1998.[2]

gollark: Well, don't worry, because you could also hook up a micro-SD card over SPI to some of these to store data, for purposes.
gollark: I suppose you could probably run some sort of accursed HTTP-directly-on-ethernet protocol and use a streaming parser.
gollark: Oh right, just use a big external SRAM chip.
gollark: That RAM can't even fit a single ethernet frame.
gollark: What of TLS‽
