Tharun Bhascker
Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam (born 5 November 1988) is an Indian film director, writer, actor and television presenter. He is known for directing the critically acclaimed Telugu language romantic comedy film Pelli Choopulu (2016),[2] which won him the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu and Best Screenplay - Dialogues.[3]

Early life
Tharun Bhascker was born in Madras. His father, Vuday Bhascker, an engineering graduate from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad, hails from Waddepally in Warangal and his mother is Geetha Bhascker, who appeared in the film Fidaa as aunt of lead actress.[4] He was brought up in Marredpally neighbourhood of Hyderabad[1] and is an alumnus of Hyderabad Public School and a mechanical engineering graduate from Swami Vivekananda Institute of Technology.
Tharun Bhascker was passionate about films and wanted to become a filmmaker. He graduated from New York Film Academy.
Film career
He started his career with short films and has directed many short films like critically acclaimed short film with Vinoothna Geetha Media, Anukokunda, and Sainma,[5][6] a hit on YouTube channel.
His first full length feature film was Pellichoopulu(2016). Pellichoopulu got a positive response and very high success rate. Prominent directors like SS. Rajamouli, Sukumar and many Tollywood famous personalities appreciated his work on Pellichoopulu.[7][8] He used the character arcs of Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up as references for Pelli Choopulu. He played the role of Singeetham Srinivasa Rao in the biopic, Mahanati. His second directorial, Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi revolves around 4 friends, who want to be in different roles of film making but move out due to different reasons. Finally, they come together to make a movie for a competition the day after a drunken night and landing up in Goa. Later in the year, he wrote the screenplay for the Zee5 web series, B. Tech which opened to positive reviews.[9]
Personal life
Dhaassyam is married to Latha Naidu, co-founder of Miss Baker. She is a Telugu film industry production designer, handles both costumes and art for films and advertisements. She also worked as a production designer for Pelli Choopulu, Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi and U Turn.
