Saekano the Movie: Finale[lower-alpha 1] is a 2019 Japanese animated romantic comedy harem film adapted from the eighth to final volumes of the light novel series Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend written by Fumiaki Maruto and illustrated by Kurehito Misaki. The film was originally released on October 26, 2019 in Japan.

Production
The anime film was announced at the "Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend Fes. flat -glistening moment-" event on December 3, 2017.[2] It is a sequel to the TV series Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend Flat, which originally aired in Japan between April and June 2017, and adapts the story from the series' eighth through final volumes.[3] The sequel film was directed by Akihisa Shibata, with Kanta Kamei serving as chief director. The rest of the main staff and cast from the anime series returned to reprise their roles.[4] CloverWorks, which was known as A-1 Pictures' Kōenji Studio when the first two seasons airing, animated the film, with parent company Aniplex handling distribution.[5] Luna Haruna performed the theme song "glory days", with Miku Sawai composing.[6]
Release
The anime film premiered in Japan on October 26, 2019, and earned a cumulative total of ¥708,279,040.[7]
Reception
TsukinoTheHag of Anitrendz praised the film, wondering to know the ending of every character.[8] Kim Morrissy of Anime News Network ranked the film an overall score of B+, saying the movie "Provides all the sweet closure and catharsis fans have been craving, excellent post-credits scene", but criticized the story's omissions.[9]
